Pastor Steve was called to serve as Hopewell Baptist Church's Senior Pastor after serving as Transitional Pastor for 6 months. Prior to that, he served for 19 years as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church St. Marys, Georgia before serving as a Transitional Pastor for Southern Baptist Churches in Georgia and Florida. In his 50 years of ministry, he has served as Minister of Music, Minister of Youth and Minster of Eduction in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.

The attributes that best describe Pastor Steve are strong preaching, leadership development, discipleship and pastoral care. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Hopewell to put the Bible into action, care about the needs of those around them and connect others to the body of Christ.

He graduated from Armstrong Atlantic University in 1986 with a degree in Music Eduction. He later went on to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 1989 with a Master of Arts in Christian Education.

Pastor Steve has been happily married for 49 years to his wife, Cindy. They have 3 children, 9 grandchildren and a dog named Snickers - not to be confused with the candy bar!
